![🔸ACUTE HIP FLEXOR STRAIN🔸If you have pain in the front of your hip that is aggravated by lifting your knee up, or motions that involve this (eg. putting on socks, walking up the stairs, getting in and out of a car), you may have strained one or more of your hip flexor muscles. This can happen with repeated hip flexion activities, like playing guard in BJJ, running, hiking, and kickboxing.

In the first few days of this injury, it is best to limit any of the motions that aggravate your symptoms, while still maintaining pain-free muscle activation and hip mobility. These are some exercises that can help with this:
1️⃣ SEATED ISOMETRIC HIP FLEXION [ 5 x 8-10sec holds; 3-4x/day]
2️⃣ BANDED ISOMETRIC HIP FLEXION -with other leg extending [3 x 8/side; Daily]
3️⃣ BRIDGE [3x10-12; Daily]
4️⃣ LACROSSE BALL RELEASE [30sec-1min; as needed)

At about 2-3 weeks after the injury, it can be helpful to start lightly mobilizing the injured areas-not into a full stretch beyond the joint limits, but enough to open up the elbow and anterior shoulder.

Also, it can helpful to start strengthening the rotator cuff at angles away from the body, both as a progression from the last Americana video, and to start to regain trust with your arm at that angle. Many people feel hesitant about movement at this angle after an Americana because it simulates the injury position, which is why introducing it in a controlled rehab environment and help.

Some exercises to achieve the above are as follows:
1️⃣ INTERNAL ROTATION AT 45 DEGREES
2️⃣ EXTERNAL ROTATION AT 45 DEGREES
3️⃣ SUPINATION
4️⃣ CACTUS SLIDES
